Sunday Summary 19-July-2026
5x Gravel Ride
A big week. Five gravel rides totalling 141 km and 872 m of climbing over six hours of riding time. Last week was just one ride at 55 km — a quiet recovery stretch after a heavier block. This week ramped back up hard.
Monday started steady with a 22 km loop, 66 m of gain and an average HR of 140 bpm. Tuesday picked up the pace — 28 km, 89 m of climbing, and a higher average of 146 bpm with a max of 170. Wednesday and Thursday were lighter 20 km spins with modest elevation, both holding a relaxed 129 bpm average. Saturday brought the week’s biggest effort: 49 km through Langford with 518 m of climbing, nearly two hours in the saddle. The kind of ride that keeps the engine ticking.
Volume was up roughly 150% in distance and 250% in elevation compared to the previous week. All five rides were gravel — the consistency is there, just a matter of keeping the base solid and building toward bigger days later in the season.
