3x Mountain Bike 1x Gravel Ride 1x Road Ride

Back on the trails this week. Four of the five rides returned to Comox Valley — three mountain bike sessions plus one climb-heavy road loop — with Friday’s gravel outing in Langford the only exception. Distance fell to 86 km from last week’s 140 km (-38%), but climbing jumped from 1,119 m to 1,501 m (+34%) across the same five activities, and total time on the bike settled at 5h32 versus 7h16.

Three morning trail rides opened the week. Tuesday’s loop was the hardest effort of the week, averaging 152 bpm and peaking at 181. Wednesday’s Buttertubs ride was the shortest at 12 km but packed in 350 m of vertical. Thursday added another 19 km of trail at an easy 125 bpm before Friday’s steady 21 km on the Langford gravel network.

Saturday afternoon brought a downhill session. Enjoyed the Forbidden Bikes whip off after dinner. Sunday was back in the bike park. Some morning laps before watching the Stevie Smith Memorial downhill race and then a few more laps before dinner.
