I have never raced downhill so it was fun to try it out. Enduro is a new race format for me. Back when I did race mountain bikes we only had cross country (which I raced) and downhill. Enduro is a bit of a mix of those. Racers do multiple downhill runs and the lowest cummulative time wins. Times are for the downhill runs only. At a typical enduro riders will have to climb back to the top in between runs. Here though we got to ride the chair, kinda cheating. That said, I think I might really enjoy this format.

I did a 4 run race. The laps were: green line, highway 19, osezno, riptide/helter skelter. Not knowing what I was doing I just uploaded and let things rip. I really needed some sort of warm up! Green line has very little fall line and that means lots of pedalling. I felt I did pretty well on the next two laps as I ride those quite a bit. I was worried about that last one as I have only riden Riptide once before and I found it very difficult. My last lap was wildly non-competive. I got creamed really. That said, I rode it the best (and fastest) I could and I am proud I was able to keep the rubber side down.

All in all I had a lot of fun. Pretty sure I will add this one to the calendar next year.
